Prayers for Tracie's granddaughter, and pics from Greater Atlanta Christian School

Before I share some pics from a recent speaking event, I want to let you guys know that Tracie's granddaughter, Rainy, is in the hospital right now in very serious condition. Tracie and her husband are there, along with their daughter. Please pray for this precious little girl who has undergone multiple brain surgeries and so much pain through her short life. And pray for the family, and for Tracie and Jim. (You can read more about Rainy from a previous post from Tracie here.)

Children are such a blessing and give us perspective we wouldn't have otherwise. We can learn so much from them--their innocence, their trust, and the way they love. Jesus said,

"I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (Matt. 18:3)

I had the opportunity in November to spend a day with a school full of children, and it was such a blessing. I visited Greater Atlanta Christian School in Norcross, Georgia where I attended high school. I spoke to all the elementary students and the middle school chapel, then to individual classes throughout the day about writing, and how stories are "built," and about being published.

The kids asked some great questions and we had a blast. Here are some pics from that day...

Tracie, we love you and are holding you and Rainy, and your family, close in prayer.

~Tammy

  1. Aw, Tammy, this post made my miss my students...*pout* But it looks like fun was had by all.

On a more serious note, praying for little Rainy and her family. Makes my heart ache...

  5. Tammy,
I remember when Rainy was born--what a precious little girl. I'll be praying for her and the Peterson family.

I always wanted to go to GACS when I was in school. But two of my best friends went there, Sharon and Nova Holden. Maybe you know them?
