Thank you, Susan (Pryor Hodges, a college buddy), for sharing this with me yesterday. I love watching flash mobs. It's so cool that a group of people will get together and practice and practice to learn a song (and sometimes choreography) in order to surprise another group of people with the goal of making them smile, of giving them joy, and––in this instance––of glorifying Christ! Love it!
Watching this brought tears to my eyes and makes me long for the day when we'll sing a new song in heaven together, part of a mighty chorus, similar to what's described in the fifth chapter of Revelation...
Then I looked again, and I heard the voices of thousands and millions of angels around the throne and of the living beings and the elders. And they sang in a mighty chorus:
"Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered––
to receive power and riches
and wisdom and strength
and honor and glory and blessing."
And then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea. They sang:
"Blessing and honor and glory and power
belong to the one sitting on the throne
and to the Lamb forever and ever!"
I join with the four living beings to say "Amen!" Can't you picture it? Can't you taste that eternal longing that God's placed within each of us?
And now for something else I love and long for (all too often)… Cookies!
Kelsey and I baked this past Thanksgiving weekend, and I wish I could have shared some of the sweets with y'all. They're safely distributed to neighbors and co-workers now, which is a good thing. I hope you all had wonderful Thanksgivings. Ours was very nice. It was special to be with family but the table still felt so empty without Mom.
The holidays can be precious, but they can also be so very hard. I hope that amidst the hustle and bustle of this next month, and in between the moments when some of us may wish that January was already here, that you'll have some "Hallelujah" moments of your own, when you're overwhelmed with the person of Jesus Christ and what He's done for you and me. For what He continues to do. And that you'll take a step closer to Him.
And maybe you'll also get a glimpse of what awaits us when we sing that new song together someday. A song we'll already know by heart. And can't you just imagine the choreography! ;)

Absolutely wonderful! Praise God! :D I loved watching the people eating join in!
Oh! I got goosebumps! And so full I cried! I'm such a baby when it comes to things like this! I LOVE it! And would have joined in if I was there! What a way to brighten this sometimes oh so dark world! Just wonderful!
Love the cookies, you girls did a great job and I'm so proud of you for giving them away (even though I'm sure that you got your "sampling" on (smile).
And yes Holidays can be times of joy as well as sadness when we miss our loved ones that have gone on. But we can say with assurance that we will see them again and oh what a reunion that will be!
Love ya Tam!
Veronica
I loved watching the other people join in too, Catherine.
And glad we shared goosebumps, Veronica. Amen on that heavenly reunion. A Hallelujah Moment for sure!
I love the video, but what's even more amazing than Handel's work sung by a group of talented men and women in such an unexpected setting is the response of those listening. The unsuspecting audience sat silently watching, awe and joy etched in their faces. That's what I imagine it will be like when believers enter heaven and behold the Lord God Almighty.
Absolutely magnificent!!! I've never been able to listen to this song (or sing it with my church choir years ago) without getting chills and tears. The most touching thing to me in this amazing video were the little childrens' faces--full of awe and wonder! So precious. ~ Those cookies you and Kelsey baked look sooo YUMMY! Now I'm more eager than ever to begin my Christmas baking (which will be done at a slower pace this year, but that's okay!). Thank you also for sharing those verses--how thrilling it will be that glorious day when we all sing together in Heaven!!! ~ Hugs, Patti Jo :)
Yes, Keli! Your words captured the moment so perfectly. Both the moment in the video and in the magnificent moment to come! Well said.
Easy with the baking, Patti Jo. Be kind to your back, sweet friend. ;)
Love the improv everywhere moments! You know I would have been joining in! Reminds me of those college days with all of us singing in the recording studio. Ah, the memories.....The cookies looked great too. It's funny how just those everyday moments of something as simple as baking cookies turn into such strong memories that tug on your heart. Speaking of that, Praying for you, Tammy, as you battle this special season of the year without your mom for the first time. May God grant you an extra measure of peace and healing.
Those are great memories, Sherry. I'm studying Isaiah right now and we got to the scriptures that talk about "Howl ye, for the day of the Lord is at hand," and oh...I was taken back to that recording study in college, and to "that song," and to our precious Uncle Bud, who's no doubt warming up for the big finale, whenever That Day comes. Bless you for your prayers.
How magnificent and uplifting! This made my day. And the acoustics there were surprisingly good!
I'd take my burger with a side of Handel any day!
Cathy
Ha! Burger with a side of Handel. Cute, Cathy!
I cried too...like a baby. So glad to see that others did too! So moving! And good to know that we still have enough freedom to praise God in the public marketplace.
Grateful for that freedom too, Cindy.
