I honestly and truly do not have favorites among the books I've written for the Christian market. They are each one meaningful to me for different reasons. But I do have a few favorite characters, and Katie Jones is one of them. I have always viewed her as a dust-devil, whirling down the streets of Homestead, Idaho, leaving all in disarray, and then I imagine dear Benjie (as Katie calls him), coming along behind her, sweeping up the messes she has made. I also love her because she makes me think of my grandmother who was among the women of that generation who were able to cast votes in Idaho in 1916. Katie would've been so proud of my grandmother.
Katie Jones is committed to fighting for the cause of women’s suffrage. She has no time for romance, especially not with her best friend Ben Rafferty. But when Katie’s column in Ben’s newspaper stirs things up, sparks begin to fly. Ben is set on winning Katie over, but Katie is just as determined to stay true to her 1916 feminist ideals. With such strong obstacles in the way, their relationship can’t possibly progress. Unless somehow love finds a way...Just use the Rafflecopter entry form and then watch for the announcement of the two winners in early August; emails will also be sent to the winners using the address entered on the entry form. (The Rafflecopter entry form is also available on a tab on my Facebook Page.)
“You can run all you want, Katie. You still can’t run away from your feelings or from my love. Not today. Not ever.” With determination in his voice, he added, “I will catch you, Katie.”

Thanks, Robin--I've wondered what that book was about (hard to believe I actually don't have ALL of your books, since I do have quite a few, LOL). Katie does sound like a fascinating character, and I love that time period--so thanks for offering your readers this chance to win a copy. ~ Blessings on your week and on your writing. Hugs, Patti Jo
ReplyDeleteHi Robin!
ReplyDeleteThought I would have a try at logging in,but I think I muffed it big time! Anything's possible when I'm at the keyboard!:)
Im not really sure whether I'm eligible to enter, seeing I live on another planet..well,seems like that sometimes!:)
Your book looks wonderful,so I wish all the entrants, "Good Luck".
Cheers,
Rosie
I love that cover, Robin! Although I look horrible in hats, sometimes I think it would be fun to begin wearing them again. Hats add so much personality to an outfit and they also reflect the personality of the 'wearer,' as well. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Patti Jo, for being a faithful reader. Writing this book was great because of all the research I did about woman's suffrage. They didn't have "women's history" when I was in school, and there was so much I didn't know. It left me profoundly thankful for the women who fought the good fight so that I might have the right to vote.
ReplyDeleteRosie, I wish I could afford to ship books overseas, but the cost is very prohibitive. But every so often, I do run a contest that is open to all, so stay tuned. The good news, if you have an ebook reader or don't mind reading on an app on your phone or computer, Catching Katie is available in ebook format. A different cover, but same book.
Judith, I love hats too. I'm told I look good in them. But I find that I get to feeling claustrophobic after a while and want to whip them off. Only then I have serious "hat hair" (fine thin hair is terrible for that) so I feel trapped. Sigh.
I just read "The Sisters of Bethlehem Springs" which was the first books that I have read by R.L.H. I Loved them!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the chance to win!
