I also want to say that while 2012 was an extremely hard year - it was a year of learning. I have to say that many times, my adult children were responsible for teaching me wonderful lessons about my relationship with God.
There are times when He offers us words of wisdom and we ignore them thinking we know better.
There are times when He extends forgiveness, but we stubbornly refuse thinking we've done nothing wrong.
There are times when He takes strong stands with us - sets difficult boundaries and we rebel.
There are times when all He wants to do is love us and we push Him away.
Seeing the world - especially my relationship with others through the eyes of Jesus has given me an entirely new perspective. I hold great love for so many and yet some of those folks want nothing of that love I offer.
The same is true for God. He extends His love to so many and they want nothing to do with it.
I challenge you in this new year to reach out to those unloving folks - those who are difficult to love - those who reject your best offering of love.
Write a list of those people and commit to pray--to take them to the throne of God everyday. Don't try to carry them yourself or fix them - rather be willing to leave them with the master "fixer" the One who knows and loves them best. Above all - just continue to love them - that's my goal for the New Year.
Blessings
Tracie

Thanks for your encouragement to keep praying for those who reject my best offering of love.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your heart today, Tracie (cute photo of your kiddos!). Praying for safe travels as you attend the training session (I'm not familiar with Precepts, so am eager to read about it). ~ On another note...I glanced at the ACFW Jan. birthdays, and saw that YOU had a birthday last Monday (Jan.7)!! Hope it was happy!

p.s. On a personal note...my newest kitty had to be put to sleep this morning...so sad...We can become so attached to these furry family members...I'm thankful for my other kitties, who seem to sense that CatMom has been very sad today.
Folks, Tracie emailed me. Jim's gotten the flu on the road. Please pray for him and them. Isn't it just the way Satan works--to attack those who are seeking to serve God in deeper, more dedicated ways?
ReplyDeletePJ--so sorry about your little kitty. :(
The skunk picture is going to stay with me. There are little stinkers all around us: often in our own families. They can be cute, but they can also be the being we least want to be around at times. This post is soooo true, so insightful!

Oh Cath---thanks for this update about Tracie and Jim! I am praying for Jim (and also that Tracie will stay well). ~ You're so right, Cath--that satan will do his best to try and prevent people who are doing the best they can to serve the Lord. ~ Thanks again for letting us know about Jim, and we'll keep praying! Love, PJ
