Igbok, and coming full circle

Hey friends! As you read this, I'm likely on my way to the dentist's office this morning for a cleaning. So this will be short and sweet!

The winners of the igbok bumper stickers (drawn randomly) are...

Drum roll, please...

All of you!

I decided last week that anyone who entered was going to get a bumper sticker. I love this bumper sticker and what it stands for that much.

So all you gals, go here, send me your mailing address, and I'll get yours in the mail to you!

One last thing...

In case you missed this on my Facebook Page last week, I had such a wonderful moment of coming full circle as I was researching something for the book I'm writing now. Here's what I posted:

You won't believe this but I'm sitting here researching tonight (well, okay, THAT you'll believe), but as I'm reading about Adolphus Heiman, a leading German architect in Nashville in the 1860s and the man who designed the Belmont Mansion (setting of A LASTING IMPRESSION), I read that he was from Potsdam, Germany. And I pause, thinking, "Wait a minute…"

Potsdam, Germany is where missionaries from our church live, and where there's a bookstore where my books are, and where A LASTING IMPRESSION (that just released this month in Germany) is being sent! So the book about the Belmont Mansion that Adolphus Heiman designed some 160 years ago is now for sale in *his* hometown. Don't you just love how God works. Coming full circle... So cool.

Have you had a "coming full circle" moment recently? And aren't they fun!

Tammy

P.S. Happy Birthday to my older brother, Doug, who gave me such grief when we were younger. And I was always so nice and sweet. Go figure... Love you, Doug!
By the way, I still have that cellulite on my thighs! TMI, I know...

  1. Tam!
Truly God works in mysterious ways and He is certainly by your side working for you my friend!

I visited Potsdam, but didn't think to look for your books there. I loved ALI and I'm going book hunting BIG TIME, when we arrive in the US!
I did leave a message, re the sticker..clicked on your link, but not sure if it worked. Just imagine the comments it will cause over here! :)
We leave for the US three weeks today. Hurray!

  2. Tammy, you and cellulite? No, can't be :-) You're so small as it is! And happy birthday to Doug as well!

Rosie, SO wish I could meet you while you're here. Not any chance ya'll are driving through Tennessee, is there?

  3. Catherine! Believe me I'm working on it Babe. Have a few options that spring to mind,so here are some suggestions for what they're worth! Are you able to look into the cheap fare savers too? Usually after midnight the cheap fares come on line and they are very reasonable. Is there a train / bus service option between Tennessee and Kingman Kansas? Do you live in Como, Memphis, Nashville, or where? I notice the driving times vary between 1-2 hrs depending if you are in Como or Memphis. Would your gorgeous hubby consider coming too?..perhaps he would drive you. We'd love to meet you both! I'm really getting excited now and am looking forward immensely, to our weekend at Kim's. Would you mind very much if I asked you for your email address? At least I can contact you via email in case I have a sudden brainstorm! LOL!

  4. Tammy, you are too funny. Love the cellulite observation!

I know I have a full circle story or two or three (by the way - yours is really cool), but right now my mind is blank. :-) One of those days. However, over the last two days, God has brought me back to the same passage of scripture on three occasions, from three different sources, so today I'm studying John 8:31-36, listening to what God wants me to hear from Him about how knowing the truth will set me free. :-)

  5. Sure Rosie! We actually live in Nashville :-) And my email: catherine.dacosta09(at)gmail.com. And email me to remind me of the dates. I think my husband has already committed to the weekend with a friend.

And Tammy, I'm still up for it if you want to drive out there with me. We can share drive-times :-)

  6. SO excited about the igbok sticker, Tammy--thank you! And I love that full-circle story (I actually read it on your other blog and thought that was amazing). Happy B'day to your brother Doug (love those cute photos and the leg comment, LOL). ~ If I may share a personal note today? I wasn't going to, but feel so close to my Wr of Pass. friends...Today is the 6-year anniv. of my sweet Daddy's passing. This morning my kitty Sweetums (who had been Daddy's cat before he died) had to be put to sleep (due to lymphoma). So they both passed on exactly the same date, six years apart. As my son-in-law told me: My Daddy was ready to see Sweetums again *smile*. Needless to say, I've cried much of the day---but reading your post has brought a smile. Thank you precious friend. Love, Patti Jo

  7. First, Patti Jo, we're all lifting you up today, asking God to fill you with hope for the future and reminders of what blessings you've had in the past. Some days are just "blue days" in life, and even though we have the joy of the Spirit and the hope of eternal life with Christ, we are creatures of the flesh and sometimes this flesh is just sad. We feel the weight of life and of being "trapped" in time. Hey, even Jesus wept over Lazarus, and Jesus knew he was about to raise him!

So, sweet friend, know that we're with you and that we love you, and are lifting you up. I can't wait to meet your precious dad at Home one day. And Sweetums too! (Ah...choo! Oh wait, no tears in heaven, so therefore no allergies in heaven. SCORE!!)

Rosie and Catherine, I WISH I could go but I need every minute and more of the next two to three months to finish this next book, or my publisher is not going to be pleased. : } So while a weekend at Kim's sounds like great fun, my allergies and my deadlines prevent me from coming. But what joy you're going to have together!

I've marked those scriptures to read later tonight, Teri, and I'll pray for you as I read them. And for me too, for deeper understanding. Thanks for sharing that.

  8. Tammy love the pics of you and your brother. All I have to say is your eyes on that baby picture says it all! Your brother had a job to handle with his lil' sister...just sayin';-)
And as far as the cellulite...I invented it okay? nuf said. ;-)

@ PJ, my sweet friend I am praying for you that the Lord will give you comfort and peace during this time. It is hard losing a pet and even harder handling the memories of loved ones gone. January and February are not my "Happy" months, but I press on as I know that the Joy of the Lord is my strength. I pray that for you today, that He gives you JOY! You are not alone in this journey...

@ Tammy, loving your new book... (sigh) Ridley Cooper (hubba, hubba)! :-)

    Love
    Rosie
